Think you know what matters most to your guests ?

Here’s the vendors your wedding guests ranked as most important to them!

According to surveys and polls of guests at events, the most popular event vendors, in order of popularity, are:

  1. Catering & Bar: Let’s be honest, free food and beverages are what we all look forward to at any event! This is definitely the most important wedding vendor to ALL ages, from toddlers to grandparents and they are crossing their fingers that you don’t skimp on the budget when it comes to picking a caterer or beverage service.

  2. Entertainment: Your guests will be a mix of extroverts who will be all over the dance floor and Introverts who will be standing in the corner watching the action. Doesn’t matter, both enjoy music and love an entertaining DJ or fabulous live band. This vendor sets the tone and atmosphere of an event and keeps guests engaged and entertained throughout the night.

  3. Floral design and decor: Floral design and fun decor/focal points can add a special and unique touch to any event. This vendor not only sets the stage but gives your guests something to talk about all night long.

  4. Wedding planner: Surprised? Not only is a wedding planner important to the couple to take care of the details, but they are equally important to guests! Why? Because there’s nothing more annoying than an unorganized event with an ambiguous timeline that causes guests to stand around awkwardly wondering what’s next or what they should be doing. There are a lot of moving parts to weddings and a leader is needed to show everyone the way throughout the event.

  5. Dessert/Baker: Yep. Food again. We all love it, especially when it comes to sweets. Surprisingly though, this vendor ranked toward the bottom of the list. Personally, I think it was a mistake in the poll, but perhaps the anti-sugar movement has gained momentum. Regardless, a wedding without some sort of delectable and sweet dessert would leave lots of us very disappointed.

  6. Transportation: As more creative and remote venues pop up and are chosen by couples, parking can become a challenge. Further, more guests are becoming conscientious about drinking alcohol and then having to drive home or to their hotels. Arranging for shuttles or having Uber/Lyft drivers on standby can ease your guests’ concerns.

  7. Sound and lighting: Many couples are choosing to write very special vows for each other to be spoken at the altar. Further, Maids of Honor and Best Men put a lot of effort into their toasts. Guests want to hear it all! So it’s important that an AV vendor has things set up and ready to go. Finally, guests appreciate having ambient light to set the mood, as well as help them navigate their way to the dessert table, bar, and restrooms.

Hopefully, this information will be helpful in determining what to focus on when planning your wedding on and make your many selections a bit easier.
